この度弊廊では2度目となるnobigurumi／Shin Enomoto Exhibitionを開催いたします。
nobigurumiは作家榎本晋のニックネームであった”nobi”が生み出す”縫いぐるみ”と掛け合わせた造語です。
天然染めの生地や廃棄される予定だった生地を、自身の手の赴くままに縫い合わせ、その異形の生き物たちは生まれます。
“夜中にはこっそり動き出しているかもしれません”と作家が言うように、NOBIGURUMIたちがもつ強烈なインパクトは、縫いぐるみが元来もつ愛玩物としての役割を超え、漲る生命力を湛えます。

Nobigurumi is a coined word that is a combination of “Nuigurumi” (stuffed toys) and “Nobi” which was the nickname
of the doll maker, Shin Enomoto.
His fantastical creatures are made of naturally-dyed fabrics and fabrics that were destined for disposal.
Enomoto sews them together following his heart and hands.
He says half-jokingly that those creatures might be moving around secretly in the middle of the night as the strong impact of Nobigurumi goes beyond the original role of stuffed toys and gives a strong sense of vitality.

2004年　愛知産業大学造形学部産業デザイン学科卒。同学研究生修了。
